Keeping sign will be alright

THE National Gallery of Modern Art has been given permission to extend a neon installation by Scottish conceptual artist Martin Creed at the entrance to the gallery for a further 12 months.

The artwork - a large blue neon sign bearing the words Everything Is Going To Be Alright - has proved hugely popular since it was installed.

Simon Groom of National Galleries of Scotland, said: "We were delighted to receive planning permission to install Martin Creed's neon work on the facade of the gallery last year.

"The work has been a great success, attracting a great deal of interest amongst our visitors. We also received very positive feedback from the press.
