Kate's fashion sense set to reign supreme on the web

WHEN it comes to fashion, the Duchess of Cambridge seems to get it right every time.

So much so that Edinburgh woman Sarah Tolan has created a new website dedicated to Kate Middleton's wardrobe.

Sarah, 32, a freelance journalist, is a huge fan of the future queen and has combined her love of journalism and blogging with her admiration for Kate's style.

She recently launched the site, www.kates-wardrobe.com, which includes updates on what Kate has been spotted wearing, along with photographs and the name of the designer who made the particular outfit.

Sarah, a bride-to-be who is due to marry in Majorca in September, said: "I think Kate's a great ambassador for British women and Scottish women - she went to St Andrews University after all. She is educated, has got great style and she's like a breath of fresh air.

"Also, as a journalist, I think there's a niche in the market there because people have gone haywire for Kate's fashion, and also Pippa."

Sarah, who lives in Meadowbank, added: "I'm not a royalist and I'm not an anti-royalist. The website is not about that at all. It's just about Kate's fashion. If people can't afford the price tag that she's wearing, hopefully I will offer something a little bit more high street - affordable fashion for lovers of Kate's fashion!

"There will be links on the website to the high street affordable versions of her outfits, and people will be able to click through to the retailer's website to buy items from it."

Sarah, who follows the Clarence House Twitter page for updates on Kate's outfits, also includes information on the Duchess of Cambridge's beauty products on her website, as well as outfits worn by Pippa Middleton, Kate's younger sister.

Sarah said: "If people feel strongly about a particular outfit that Kate's wearing, I would more than welcome them to contribute to the website.

"I definitely welcome guest posts so that other Kate fans can contribute and post their thoughts on Kate's fabulous fashion."

She added: "I'm a Kate fan, and the site is all about fun and fashion. In a world where many of our female role models like Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are sexualised, Kate provides a different kind of role model for women, but particularly younger girls, which I think is fantastic."

Sarah, who also set up the Miss Nifty fashion and beauty website around two years ago, mostly writes about fashion and beauty and hopes that the new website will become a viable business.

"I'm excited about this project, mostly because it's an excuse to write about Kate's style," she said.

Sarah even drew some inspiration from Kate and William for her own wedding later this year by having a photograph of the royal couple printed on her save-the-date cards.

She got engaged to her partner of ten years around a week before the royal couple, and made sure she watched the royal wedding on television.

"Kate looked amazing," she said. "I went to my friends' and we had cucumber sandwiches and cups of tea.

"Sadly, I won't be wearing McQueen or a Cartier tiara at my wedding."

Fellow Kate fans can sign up to the website for free-to- receive email updates on Kate's latest outfits.
