Jurors given £2.3 million

JURY members sitting in Edinburgh’s courts received nearly £2.3 million in expenses during the last five years, new figures from the Scottish Court Service have shown.

A total of £1.3m was paid in expenses to jurors at the High Court in Edinburgh between April 2006 and March, with £292,000 paid out in the last year. At Edinburgh Sheriff Court, jurors received £1m in expenses in the same period.
