JUDY Murray has delighted tennis fans by posting two childhood photos of son Andy.

One image shows Judy holding a basket of tennis balls and talking to Andy on court at ‘the local club’.

Judy tweeted: “It’s #WorldTennisDay. Gd time 2 share a pic from 15 yrs ago... me + @andy_murray down the local club. As we did :)”

And Andy was quick to reply, drawing attention to the fact that even as a 12-year-old, he was taller than his mum.

The other picture was taken at a West of Scotland junior tournament in the year 2000, and shows Andy with peroxide blond hair next to his mum, with brother Jamie a few seats away.

Judy posted: “Blast from the tennis past. West of Scotland junior tourney 2000 - spot @jamie_murray @andy_murray Leon Smith + me.”

Andy’s bleached look attracted several comments on Twitter, with Judith Moyes writing: “Looks like Andy was rocking the Eminem/Slim Shady look!”

It’s not the first image of a young Andy to be published - an early nineties image of a six-year-old Andy, clad in a Hibernian jumper with former Easter Road striker Keith Wright, emerged in 2013.

Wright said at the time: “Judy Murray used to bring Andy and his brother Jamie along every year.

“This photo surfaces on the Hibs forum every once in a while. The fans are always delighted to see a champion in a Hibs strip. It’s quite strange really – of all the kids I could have lifted up for a photo I chose a future superstar. I was the most famous person in that picture once.”
