Judges to rule on new Basque party

Spain's attorney general says a new Basque independence party is a repackaged version of armed group Eta's banned political wing, Batasuna, and he is to ask judges to deny the party legal status.

It will now be up to a special section of the Supreme Court to decide on legalising the new party, Sortu, which insists it rejects Eta violence.
