Judges eye green space

THE Capital's parks, gardens and public spaces were today set to be visited by judges from Beautiful Scotland.

The annual national competition awards towns and cities that are well decorated with an array of plants and flowers.

Judges were in the city today to visit sites including Princes Street Gardens, Duddingston and Holyrood Park.

Councillor Robert Aldridge, the city's environment leader, said: "I applaud the effort and imagination of our parks staff."
