Joseph star Lee Mead goes Wilde in Capital

LEE Mead, the winner of the BBC's hit show Any Dream Will Do, is to take a starring role on the Capital stage.

He will make his drama debut in Bill Kenwright's production of Oscar Wilde's Lord Arthur Savile's Crime, which is to show at the King's Theatre.

Mead starred as Joseph in the West End musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from 2007 until early 2009, alongside releasing his debut solo album, which sold nearly 200,000 copies.

He recently released his follow-up album Nothing Else Matters and is now returning to the stage in the classic comedy, adapted by Trevor Baxter.

He will join an all-star cast for the tour, including Gary Wilmot and Kate O'Mara, star of TV hits including Dynasty.

The show will run at the King's from 22-27 February.
