Jokers stand up for people

COMEDIANS are hoping to bring the house down at the sixth annual Edinburgh People's Festival.

Stand-ups Simon Munnery, Ada Vidal, Gavin Webster and Lee Camp will be performing at the event, being held at the BMC Club on Friday night.

Colin Fox, the festival director, said: "Our event is a secret policeman's ball with a difference - one where all the police have been sent to London to quell unrest and we have our own riotous evening here.

"We have four fabulous comedians lined up and with tickets just 2.50 each you don't need much loot to get in.

"Those people hunting for a 42-inch plasma screen TV can always get one at the Sainsbury's next door."
