Join walk to help Japan

JAPANESE residents in Edinburgh have organised a walk to help victims of the earthquake in their home country.

Everybody is invited to take part in the trek, which aims to raise money for those suffering from the severe winter weather and shortage of food and water.

The walk will take place on April 2 from 10am. Those who want to take part should meet at Spylaw Park in Colinton. The walk ends in Leith.

Other events across the Capital include a fundraiser on Saturday for Red Cross International. Edinburgh's West Port Book Festival is aiming to make 1,000 paper origami birds.
