John Prescott to talk politics

FORMER Labour deputy leader John Prescott will take the stage in Edinburgh tonight to talk about his life in politics.

Britain's longest-serving deputy prime minister will be interviewed by Scottish Parliament presiding officer Alex Fergusson as part of the Festival of Politics.

Mr Prescott, who was a key figure during Tony Blair's time in office, left school at 15 and served in the Merchant Navy before becoming an MP in 1970 and a peer earlier this year.

The event, in the main chamber of the Holyrood parliament, starts at 5pm.
