Jogger may have frozen to death after fall on ice

Police say that a mum whose body was found yesterday may have slipped on ice while out jogging and frozen to death.

Rachel Adams went missing after leaving her home in Fordell Estate, Fife, on Sunday, sparking a desperate search during the cold spell as temperatures plummeted.

Police ruled out any suspicious circumstances around the death of the 47-year-old, and it is thought they are viewing it as an accident.

Mrs Adams is reported to be the wife of marketing guru Phil Adams, who was formerly managing director of the Leith Agency, the firm responsible for many popular Scottish ad campaigns.

The couple lived on the estate near Dalgety Bay with their four daughters.

It is thought that Mrs Adams, whose body was found just 50 metres from her home, slipped on the ice, injured herself and died of hypothermia.

With temperatures barely above freezing, her jogging clothes would have done little to protect her from the harsh conditions.
