Jim pipped at the post

Jim “The Swim” Anderson OBE narrowly missed out on an 18th Paralympic medal last night after finishing fourth in the men’s 50-metre backstroke final.

The swimmer, from Broxburn, had qualified with the third fastest time, but in the final he was beaten into fourth place, with the gold going to the Chinese favourite Yang Yang, who set a world record of 1:00.90.
