Jenny Dawe anger at ballot leak

COUNCIL leader Jenny Dawe has criticised members of her own party for allowing details of a bid to oust education leader Marilyne MacLaren to become public.

The Evening News reported earlier this week that seven Lib Dem councillors backed Elaine Morris's challenge, with eight backing Councillor MacLaren. In the secret ballot, there was also one abstention and one councillor was on holiday.

But Councillor Dawe hit out at the full details becoming public. She said: "It was a secret ballot and it will be no surprise to know that most of us are not best pleased that a secret ballot was made known to the public."
