Jennifer Aniston derides her Friends hairstyle

IT WAS the haircut that was copied by women all over the world in the mid-1990s.

But the woman who made it famous - former Friends star Jennifer Aniston - has revealed that she believed it was the "ugliest" haircut she had ever seen.

The layered cut was given the name "The Rachel" after Aniston's character Rachel Green in the US television comedy series. She wore the style in the show's first and second seasons.

In a magazine interview, the 41-year-old star said the style she inspired was not worth the following it built.

She said: "How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I've ever seen."

Aniston's longtime hairstylist Chris McMillan came up with "The Rachel". He still works with her today.

She said: "I love Chris, but he's the bane of my existence because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look."

And she admitted she now often takes over from him.

"He thinks I'm a closet hairdresser," she said. "I'll take the hairdryer right out of his hands."
