HIBERNIAN footballer Jason Cummings has strenuously denied suggestions he was involved in the filming of an underage girl having sex at a party in an Edinburgh flat.

The striker told the Scottish Sun he had received online abuse from Twitter trolls over the allegations. There is no suggestion that he was involved in the incident.

The 19-year-old was attending a party on Saturday to watch the televised boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao.

He said: “It’s got nothing to do with me. It has been a nightmare for me and my fmaily. there were about 50-odd people at the party.

“Me and my mates were there, down the stairs, watching the boxing.

“I’m sitting with my mates, having a laugh, having a couple of beers, whatever, and then I get dragged into this.”

“I only found out when I was getting abuse on Twitter.”

The Hibs striker added that the police have not contacted him over the incident. An 18-year-old male has been arrested and charged with sexual offence.

A spokesperson for the Crown Office said the man was due to appear in court yesterday, but has since been released from custody pending further investigation.
