Japanese pledge over war missing

Japan's prime minister has vowed to find the remains of about 12,000 soldiers still missing from the battle of Iwo Jima, one of the bloodiest fights of the Second World War.

Naoto Kan made the pledge at a ceremony to inter 822 sets of remains recovered last year - the largest annual figure in four decades.
