Jane Kelly’s parents pay tribute after death of ‘very special’ girl

THE parents of a 22 year-old university student, allegedly murdered in a quiet Perthshire village, yesterday paid tribute to their “very special” and beautiful daughter. Jane Kelly, of Findlay Douglas Court, St Andrews, was found dead in a house in the hamlet of Powmill, six miles from Kinross, after Tayside Police officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Friday night.

Mark Jarvie, 22, was charged with her murder at Perth Sheriff Court. He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

Ms Kelly’s distraught parents said in a statement: “We have lost a very special, beautiful daughter. She will be so sadly missed by her mum, dad, her brother, sisters and all who were blessed to know her.”
