Jailed drug dealer facing assets seizure

A COCAINE dealer who was jailed for nine years is being pursued under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Former boxer James Carlin splashed out thousands of pounds on a gambling trip to Las Vegas and partied in Ibiza with supermodel Kate Moss while running an Edinburgh drug gang.

The 24-year-old was set to appear from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today for a hearing on the possible confiscation of his remaining assets.

Carlin, of Hay Gardens in Niddrie, was found guilty of supplying cocaine in Edinburgh between January 2007 and February 2008, and was jailed in October.

A Crown Office spokesman said: "We can confirm that James Carlin is the subject of ongoing civil proceedings, in relation to cash seized from him under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002."
