It's a whole new world for readers

THE National Library of Scotland has carried out a £10,000 upgrade of its maps reading room.

Bartholomew Archive curator Karla Baker was examining one of the historic globes moved from the old location at Salisbury Place to new street-level headquarters at Causewayside.

The new venue will make it quicker and easier for members of the public to browse, consult or collect copies and images.
