Isa celebrates her 106 years

AN "amazing character" has celebrated her 106th birthday by enjoying cake and champagne with her family.

Isabella Blyth enjoyed the celebration on Saturday at Jubilee House Care Home in the company of her niece Sheena Campbell and nephew Hugh Fraser and his wife Ann.

Ms Campbell said: "Isa is an amazing character and you wouldn't believe she was 106.

"It was a quiet, lovely celebration. She had her telegram (from the Queen], plus plenty of best wishes from local councillors and lots of cards. We abided by what she wanted and took some lovely photos."

Miss Blyth, from Gorgie, was born in 1904 to John and Janet Blyth and was christened in Tolbooth Parish Church, of which she is still a member. She was heavily involved with her church and loved gardening and golf.
