Irish priests take selfie on phone left at Mass

IT SOUNDS like an outtake from Father Ted, but perhaps this Irish parishioner will be a bit more ‘careful now’ with his phone - after four Irish priests ‘hacked it’ after it was left behind at Mass.

Thankfully for the individual, identified only as Andrew, the tech-savvy Father McMahon found the phone and posted a selfie with his fellow priests and a message on Facebook to let him know where his phone was.

The cleric posted a message on Andrew’s account saying: “Hi Andrew, You seem to have left your phone behind at mass yesterday and I take it your still looking for it !!! [sic]

“Thankfully it was unlocked... not a smart move.

“Don’t worry though, just call into the Cathedral and you can have your phone back. One of us should be here or in the priests house next door.”

Fr McMahon allayed any fears Andrew might have had that a man of the cloth had been through his phone, adding: “PS: Don’t worry I didn’t look at anything on your phone, who knows what you adolescent boys be up to!!!”

The priest signed off the message: “May God be with you always, Yours in Faith, Fr. P McMahon.
