Iran: Minute's silence cut short at cup match

A MINUTE'S silence for the victims of Sunday's air crash in Iran that killed nearly 80 people lasted only about ten seconds before Iraq played Iran in the Asian Cup in Doha yesterday.

The crowd ignored the referee's whistle to start the silence and he signalled the end of it just a few seconds later.
