Unfortunately, Grampian Police confirmed that remains had also been found at the property.

A force spokesman said: “No identification has been made at this stage.

“The property was extensively damaged.

“The cause of the fire is currently unknown and a joint fire investigation is underway, although enquiries are at an early stage.”

At the height of the blaze nearly 30 firefighters from Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Maud and Aberdeen were battling the flames.

A spokesman for the Grampian Fire and Rescue Service said: “We had four fire appliances, one incident support vehicle, one water carrier and a welfare unit in attendance.

“We still have crews at the farm dampening down the scene.”
