Investigation launched after body found in Wishaw field

POLICE launched an investigation today after a body was found in a field.

Officers were called to the area near Branchalfield Drive in the Cambusnethan area of Wishaw, North Lanarkshire at around 4.20pm yesterday following the discovery.

It is understood the death is being treated as suspicious.

Strathclyde Police said that a full investigation was under way and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

They could not say whether the body was male of female at this stage.
