Intruders spotted near Duke of York's home

A MAN has been arrested by police on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft after three people were spotted in the grounds of the Duke of York's home.

The intruders were seen in a car close to Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park early on Monday morning but left soon after entering the estate.

Prince Andrew, 50, shares the Berkshire property with his former wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, 50. Neither was at home at the time. The Duke was with other senior royals including his daughters, princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, on a cruise around Scotland, while his ex-wife is believed to have been in Spain.

She said: "At approximately 5:05am on Monday 2 August, three people entered the area of Windsor Great Park, in a vehicle, possibly a Shogun. They exited minutes later and nothing was stolen.

"The method of entry remains under investigation."
