'Intimate' wedding for Bloom and Kerr

PIRATES of the Caribbean heart-throb Orlando Bloom has married his Australian supermodel girlfriend Miranda Kerr in an "intimate" ceremony.

Bloom 33, and Kerr, 27, began dating around three years ago and confirmed their engagement last month. They tied the knot during a low-key ceremony in Los Angeles, according to reports.

News of the wedding slipped out after upmarket Australian department store David Jones said Kerr who is their "fashion ambassador", would be unable to attend a spring season launch next month as she will still be on honeymoon.

"I am enormously grateful to David Jones to have been given this time to enjoy such a special moment of my life," Kerr said in the statement. "I look forward to coming back to Australia in the near future to celebrate with family and friends"

Bloom is one of Britain's hottest actors, having starred in some of the biggest film franchises in recent years.

He caught the attention of audiences in Peter Jackson's award-winning Lord Of The Rings movies and starred alongside Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean.
