International call cards crackdown

TOUGH new rules have been introduced for international telephone call cards after research showed many users were being ripped off.

The cards are largely used by the UK's immigrant population to make cheap overseas calls. Regular Ofcom found 10 per cent could not be activated and others did not deliver the advertised number of minutes.
