Inspectors leave tips for Lothians school

INSPECTORS have made a series of recommendations following a visit to an East Lothian primary school.

Visitors from HM Inspectorate of Education said pupils at Yester Primary School in Gifford were "well-behaved, courteous and keen to learn".

The inspectors also highlighted the support provided for children with learning difficulties.

However, inspectors said a further visit would be made to the nursery, with a report provided for parents.

They called for a plan to be put in place to manage the medical needs of children with existing medical conditions and said the medication policy and procedure in the nursery should be "further improved."

The inspectors added that medical procedures should be tightened up.
