Inquiry into primary school blaze

Investigations were under way into a fire at a primary school, police said yesterday.

Forty firefighters were involved in tackling the blaze at East Plean Primary School in Main Street, Plean, near Stirling.

Fire crews were alerted to the scene shortly after 8pm on Saturday, and they battled through the night to tackle the blaze. It was brought under control shortly after 5:30am yesterday.

Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service said that nine engines and two high-reach aerial appliances were used to fight the fire.

Firefighters said no-one was injured in the blaze, the cause of which was unknown last night. .
