Inquiry launched following oil rig fire

AN INVESTIGATION was under way last night after a fire on a rig with a crew of 157. The alarm on the Transocean-operated semi-submersible drilling rig, the John Shaw, in the Cromarty Firth was raised just before 2pm yesterday.

An onboard fire crew extinguished the blaze within 20 minutes.
