Inquiry after girl, 7, is left behind on school swim trip

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a seven-year-old girl was left behind on a school trip to a swimming pool.

Katie McLintock had got her hair wet and spent time trying to dry it. But when she left the changing rooms at Gracemount Leisure Centre in Edinburgh on Monday all of her classmates were gone.

The primary three pupil at Castleview Primary managed to find her swimming teacher to tell her that she had been left behind. But now her mother, Louise Payne, 26, has taken her daughter out of school and is calling for the teacher in charge of the outing to be sacked.

She said: "I have pulled Katie out of school because I am that furious about what happened."

A council spokesman apologised for the incident, adding: "This was completely unacceptable and therefore we have embarked on a full investigation.
