Innerleithen incident: Paraglider in hospital after crashing into Scottish primary school playground

A paraglider was taken to hospital after crashing into a school playground.

The man crash-landed at St Ronan’s Primary School in Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders on Sunday at about 3.40pm.

It is understand no one else was injured in the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services attended and a 59-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where medical staff describe his condition as stable.“Inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”

Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
