Inmate absconds from open prison in Dundee

A PRISONER went on the run after he was released on licence, police said yesterday.

Daniel Adam, 52, a prisoner at Castle Huntly open prison in Dundee, failed to return after he was granted a temporary release licence. He was due to return on 7 May.

Police said the "low-risk prisoner" is thought to be in the Glasgow area. Officers from the Tayside and Strathclyde forces are working together to trace the convict.

He is described as being a white male, 5ft 9in, with blue eyes and grey, receding hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
