In pictures: Nato’s Join Warrior military exercises

WAR games are being played out off the Scottish coast to test the ability of international troops in dealing with major global threats – including a terrorist attack on the Olympics.

Nato’s Joint Warrior exercise will see 30 warships, submarines and aircraft in serious play-fighting roles over the two-week operation.

Europe’s biggest ever military exercise involves almost 8,000 personnel from eight countries.
