In footsteps of enlightened

A MARCH of Enlightenment due to be held along the Royal Mile today to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Scottish philosopher David Hume will include a re-enactment of the trial of the last person to be hanged for blasphemy in Scotland.

The march will take place between the Holyrood Palace and the statue of David Hume, which stands opposite St Giles Cathedral.

The Humanist Society will have an information stall at the statue to explain the legacy of David Hume and what it means for people in modern society.
