Sarah O'Gallagher, prosecuting, said police suspected that the house in the Dedridge area of Livingston was being used as a cannabis farm.

Hoang, a prisoner at Saughton, earlier pled guilty to producing cannabis and being concerned in the supply of the drug. The court heard he entered the UK illegally from Vietnam via Russia.

He will be deported once he has served his sentence.
