Ice cream shop has a cool givewaway to aid charity

AN ICE cream shop will be giving away sweet treats for free to raise funds for a children's charity.

Musselburgh-based Reno Di Rollo will be offering customers a free scoop of vanilla ice cream at their Bridge Street Shop.

Despite being held on April Fool's Day, he insisted the "Big Giveaway" is not a prank.

Mr Di Rollo is hoping that people will give a donation to the Variety Club Children's Charity.

Partner Reno Di Rollo said: "It may seem crazy to give our ice cream away but it's a great way of giving our customers a free treat while also helping to raise money for an extremely worthwhile cause."

It is being run in conjunction with the Ice Cream Alliance, which represents the industry throughout the UK.
