Icas signs up Investec as first '˜principal partner'

Accounting trade body Icas has signed a deal for Investec Wealth & Investment to become the first member of its 'principal partner' scheme.

Under the tie-up, the wealth manager – which looks after more than £26.5 billion of clients’ assets – will help support a range of Icas events including its conference and annual dinner, both of which are due to be held in Edinburgh this year.

Icas chief executive Anton Colella said the organisation’s new partnership initiative aims to build “long-term, mutually beneficial relationships” with other firms that can provide “relevant” services for its more than 21,000 members.

He added: “I know Investec Wealth & Investment’s significant experience in the sector will prove of real value.”

Murray Mackay, executive director at Investec Wealth & Investment in Edinburgh, said the firm would be supporting Icas to “grow its membership and working with these professionals to the benefit of their clients”.
