Hyslop opens revamped creative unit

A NEWLY-refurbished creative centre at a Lothians college has been officially opened by Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop.

Ms Hyslop joined Mhairi Laughlin, principal of West Lothian College, along with members of staff, students and local business representatives to mark the relaunch of the centre.

She said: "Scotland's world-leading creative industries make a vital contribution to our economy, generating billions of pounds a year and supporting thousands of jobs. The Scottish Government is committed to developing this vital sector to help it reach its full economic potential. It is fantastic to have such an outstanding facility here in West Lothian."

Mhairi Laughlin added: "The Creative Centre is an exciting resource for our students, providing flexible learning facilities that offer a realistic working environment to support skills development and employability opportunities."
