Hurt memory loss man still facing blanks

The tattooed man left with amnesia after being found with a head wound in the New Town has said many of his memories have returned but he still has no idea how he got injured.

Eugene Chousein, 22, from Cambuslang, has no idea what he was doing in the Capital or how he got injured.

"I remember everything about my life, my home and my family - but that day is still a complete blank," he was reported as saying today.

Mr Chousein was discovered lying in Northumberland Street by a taxi driver last Wednesday night.

He had suffered a deep cut on the top of his head and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Following a media appeal, friends contacted police on Friday to give his name.

Mr Chousein is now recovering at home with mum Katherine, dad Alex and younger brother Michael.
