Hunt for two men after sex assault on schoolgirls, 14

Two men are being hunted in connection with the sexual assault of a schoolgirl, police said.

The 14-year-old said she was attacked while with a friend, also 14, in Alexandra Parade, Dunoon, in Argyll and Bute at 11pm on Thursday night.

Strathclyde Police said the girls met two men and walked with them along the foreshore at Alexandra Parade.

A member of the public called police when they became concerned at the way the girls were acting at a bus stop a short time later.

Detective Inspector Douglas Wilson said: “This enquiry is at a very early stage and we have still to clarify exactly what happened, however one of the girls has told police that she was seriously sexually assaulted by one of the men.

“The suspect is described as of Asian appearance, between 19 and 40 years of age, 5ft 5ins in height, average build, short dark hair, dark eyes and was wearing a long-sleeved purple top.

“He was with a second man, also believed to be of Asian appearance, around 5ft 3ins in height, of a heavier build, between 19 and 40 years of age, and was wearing a yellow long-sleeved top.”

Officers have been reviewing CCTV in the area and carrying out door-to-door enquiries to gather more information. They are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
