Hunt for three in Edinburgh race attack

Police are searching for two white men and a woman involved in a racially motivated attack on an Indian man in Edinburgh.

The victim had his jaw broken after he tried to help a young woman involved in an argumen with two other men in the city centre.

The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday in Market Street. One of the men punched the 21-year-old on the side of the head.

A second man then struck the victim on the head, knocking him to the ground, and three other men joined in the attack.

The victim was taken to St John's Hospital, Livingston.
