Hunt for pair who threw brick at car

POLICE are hunting a pair of "incredibly stupid" young thugs who hurled a brick from a motorway bridge at a car, and risked the lives of the driver and his young child.

Lothian and Borders Police said the two male youths were seen on the bridge over the M8 at Deans, Livingston, West Lothian, at around 9.50am on Monday.

The pair threw the brick at the car as it passed below, damaging its windscreen and terrifying the driver and his child, who was secured in a child seat in the back of the car.

The man was able to pull his vehicle in to the side of the road a short distance away, and reported the incident to police, saying he noticed two boys standing on the bridge just before the incident.

Police today described the act as "incredibly stupid, and one which put motorists and passengers' lives at risk", and launched an appeal for witnesses.
