Hungry spook haunts shelves at supermarket

A GHOST has been caught on camera shopping for cereal in an Edinburgh supermarket – at least an actor dressed as a ghost has.

Budding filmmaker Cameron Pirie has shot a 60-second film in the Tollcross branch of Scotmid for a competition run by Dorset Cereals.

Mr Pirie said: "I decided to make a film called Happy Ghosts using two characters from Edinburgh's Witchery Tours – the dastardly Mad Monk of the Cowgate and Agnes Fynnie, the notorious witch.

"I wanted to take them out of their usual environment and place them in a modern setting and my local supermarket came to mind.

"The staff members were great and we only scared one customer."

The competition shortlist is chosen by members of the public, with the top 24 being viewed by Oscar-winning Gosford Park writer Julian Fellowes, who will choose one winner and two runners-up.

Happy Ghosts is currently in the top ten and viewers have until 26 February to vote. It can be viewed at http://tinyurl.com/yabfd6p.
