How to register on our new-look website

Our website has changed and we have now switched to the version that we publicised in beta last week.

If you receive our Paperboy and Business Briefing emails you will have to reset your password if you want to log in to the site.

This can be done by selecting ‘log in’ below the navigation and selecting ‘forgot’ above the password field.

Once you have entered your email address and pressed ‘reset’, check your email inbox and you will have received an email containing a link which will allow you to reset your password.

If you were registered with the site previously but did not subscribe to our Paperboy and Business Briefing emails then you will have to re-register.

We will be rolling out more changes in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please feed back any comments by e-mailing us at [email protected] or via Twitter using the hashtag #scotsman

Here are answers to some questions our readers have already asked about the new website:

Q. Why can’t I comment on the new site?

A. You can - but you have to register even if you were registered on the old site. It only takes a couple of minutes.

Q. I’m having trouble registering and I love my username so don’t want to use a different account.

A. First things first, check your junk mail in case your verification e-mail has made its way in there. And here’s what to do if you don’t receive the initial registration email: Click on the “Login” section at the top of the homepage and request “forgotten password”, this will send you a reminder email so you can then follow the instructions to activate your account.

Q. How do I report a comment that I feel is unsuitable?

A. You need to be registered and logged in to see the report button next to each comment

Q. I can’t read the captcha when registering and have got it wrong several times. What do I do?

A. If you can’t read the captcha then click on ‘Get another captcha’ until you get one you can read
