Hotel is the place to learn

A HOTEL in the city has been shortlisted for an award thanks to its commitment to work experience placements.

The Apex Hotel - which has extensive links with Edinburgh Napier University - will compete for the National Council for Work Experience prize.

Jill Houston, the hotel's training co-ordinator, described placements at Apex as a "unique opportunity" which "enhanced employability".

She added: "We aim to improve the skills base of entrants to the industry within the region and nationally."
