Hotel dines at top table

A SPRAWLING Lothians hotel has picked up a prestigious award for its food and drink.

The Macdonald Marine in North Berwick won the best customer care accolade at the East Lothian Food and Drink awards.

In addition, the John Paul at the Marine restaurant received the runner-up accolade in the Best Hotel Meal category.

The annual event is run by East Lothian Council to establish the county as the leader for quality food, drink and hospitality.

John Paul, the restaurant’s head chef, said: “It’s a great honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award, let alone receive runner-up.

“It is a testament to the hard-working team, who strive to offer innovative brasserie-style dining using the finest and freshest of ingredients at affordable prices.”
