Hospital opens new play zone

A NEW play area at a Lothian hospital will enhance children's experience of going there for the first time, a charity has said.

Speaking after the launch of the new play zone and chill-out lounge at St John's Hospital in Livingston, the organisation which helped fund it said it would make a "definite difference".

Wendy Simpson, a spokeswoman for River Kids – which put up 50,000 for the scheme – said: "Going into hospital for the first time can be very intimidating for a child so this new facility will make a definite difference to the experience of children attending St John's Hospital."
