Homes flooded for the second time in a week
Homeowners in Meikle Inch Lane, Bathgate, are currently seeking shelter with relatives and in nearby hotels after a water main burst and destroyed the bottom floors of around 17 properties.
Last night, emergency services were called to the scene to deal with rising water levels.

Hide AdA spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police in West Lothian responded to Mosside Terrace in Bathgate at around 10pm on Saturday, February 27, after a ruptured water main resulted in extensive flooding within the street.
“Several households had previously been evacuated due to a similar incident on Wednesday.
“However, there was no need to evacuate residents on this occasion and the flooding ceased around 12am.
“Local officers are continuing to work alongside colleagues from West Lothian Council, The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Water to ensure the safety and clean-up of the area.
“Members of the public are advised to avoid the area during this multi-agency operation.”
