Homeless people treated to slap-up meal

AROUND 60 homeless people in the Capital were treated to a special three-course meal while enjoying to an afternoon of entertainment.

The Salvation Army’s Regener8+ project and Edinburgh City Centre Churches Together teamed up to hold two lunch-time sittings for those who have been sleeping on the streets over the festive season.

The food was bought from £300 of funding from Edinburgh City Centre Churches Together, who also organised a band to play Scottish music to entertain the guests.

Robert Philp, convener of Edinburgh City Centre Churches Together, said: “It is the first time we have worked with the Salvation Army and it went really well.”
